MCA to host ICC WCQS from Feb 26-29. The participating eight nations will contest the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifying Series Division 2 Trophy in Malaysia from 21st to 27th February 2005. An event that will move the winning team closer to a place in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.The Cayman Islands, Fiji, Italy, Kuwait, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Qatar and Zambia will compete in this qualifying tournament, with the winner traveling to Ireland later this year to participate in the ICC Trophy - Ireland 2005 in July.
The five highest ranked teams from the ICC Trophy – Ireland 2005 then qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 in the West Indies. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 will be contested by 16 teams – the 10 ICC Full Members, Kenya, and the top five teams from the
ICC Trophy in Ireland 2005.

In the 50 overs limited overs match played at Royal Selangor Club between MCA Presidents IX and England Under 19, MCA won the toss and sent in England to bat first. This decision made early divident as wickets started fallin gfrom the 1st over and England Under-19 were all out for 160 in 44.1 overs. Only B.Harminson - 33, S.Mullaney and J.Simpson -20 were their main scorers. Bowling for MCA President's IX Noor Ikhwan Roslee took 4 wickets for 37 runs, T.Kodikara 2 wickets for 30 runs, Manrick Singh 2 wickets for 41 runs. M.Muniandy 1 wicket for 18 runs and Muthuraman 1 wicket for 24 runs bowled well to restrict England batting. In reply MCA Presidents IX easily passed England's score as they scored 161 runs for the loss of only wickets in 33.2 overs. T.Kodikara - 41 (not out), Muthuraman 37 (not out) and Nasir Ali batte for well for Malaysia.

In the first friendly match against MCA Presidents IX England Under 19 won by a huge margin of 159 runs. In the match held at Royal Selangor Club, Bukit Kiara (40 overs match) England Under 19 won the toss and decided to bat first, piled up 252 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 40 overs. W.Gifford - 70, T.Denly -24 and B.Harminson were the main scorers. Bowling for MCA Presidents IX - Rohan Vishnu Suppiah 2 wickets for 49 runs, Manrick Singh 2 wickets for 51 runs and Noor Ikhwan Roslee 1 wicket for 39 runs were the only wicket takers. In reply MCA Presidents IX managed to score only 93 runs and were all out in 26 overs. The main scorers for MCA Presidents IX were Nasir Ali -22 and T.Kodikara - 21. Bowling for England Under 19 S Mullaney 3 wickets 9 runs, A Miller 3 wickets for 16 runs, B Harminson 2 wickets for 14 runs and T Smith 1 wicket for 18 runs were the cause of MCA Presidents IX collapse.
